The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S25 is being accused of copying more than a dozen features from the iPhone, according to Macworld.
The review highlights several similarities between the new Samsung phone and Apple’s flagship devices, including the slab-sided design and a glowing border around the virtual assistant, which mirrors Siri’s look.
Macworld’s Mahmoud Itani points out that both Apple and Samsung tend to borrow ideas from each other, but Samsung’s approach is often more direct. One example is the integration of Google Gemini, which mimics Apple’s Siri.
When activated, Gemini displays a colorful glowing border around the text box, just like Siri. Samsung’s AI system also supports both text and voice input, and its text-editing interface closely resembles Apple’s Writing Tools.
Other copied features include phone call transcription and summarization, a natural-language search in the Photos app, and an interface similar to Apple’s Image Playground. Samsung also added a Now Bar, resembling Apple’s Live Activities, and cinematic audio features for video recording.
While the article acknowledges that both companies often imitate each other’s innovations, it suggests that Samsung’s approach is less subtle.
The competition between the two tech giants is seen as a driving force for innovation, pushing both to improve their products.
