Samsung One UI 7 Update

Samsung is rolling out the much-anticipated Android 15-based One UI 7 update, but some Galaxy devices are nearing the end of their update support.

As Android 16 development continues, Samsung confirms that certain models will not receive future major OS upgrades after One UI 7.

Expiring OS Update Support

Samsung’s update policy promises a minimum of four years of software support for most models.

However, some popular devices are now reaching the end of their software lifecycle with the release of One UI 7. The following devices will be receiving Android 15 as their final major OS update:

Galaxy S Series:

  • Galaxy S21
  • Galaxy S21+
  • Galaxy S21 Ultra

Galaxy Z Series:

  • Galaxy Z Flip 3
  • Galaxy Z Fold 3

Galaxy A Series:

  • Galaxy A14 and A14 5G
  • Galaxy M14 and M14 5G

These devices will still receive security updates but will not be eligible for Android 16 or future major updates.

Key Features of One UI 7

For those devices that will receive One UI 7, the update introduces several new features aimed at improving user experience and productivity:

  • Now Bar: Quick access to activities like music and recording.
  • AI Enhancements: With Galaxy AI, users can enjoy smarter device functionality.
  • Redesigned UI & Icons: A fresh look for a modern feel.
  • Customizable Quick Settings: Tailor your phone’s settings for convenience.
  • Improved Animations & Dynamic Lock Screen Widgets: A smoother, more visually appealing experience.
  • New Camera Layout & AI Tools: Enhanced photography features for better results.
  • Expanded Gesture Controls & App Archiving: Greater flexibility in navigating your device.
  • Private Space: Enhanced privacy settings for added security.
  • Super HDR Toggle & Sketch to Image Tool: Cutting-edge camera features and artistic tools.
  • Improved Battery Management & Adaptive Screen Timeout: Better battery life and screen efficiency.

Samsung continues to innovate with One UI 7, bringing exciting new features while saying goodbye to certain models that will no longer receive major updates.

For users of these devices, this update will be the last major software upgrade, though security updates will continue.
