Samsung has reportedly delayed the release of its much-anticipated Galaxy G Fold, the company’s first tri-fold foldable phone, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, a more affordable foldable option.
According to a new report, both devices are now expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025, later than originally planned.
The Galaxy G Fold was set to compete directly with Huawei’s Mate XT, a device that has gained attention for its innovative tri-fold design. Samsung’s delay suggests the company may be refining its features to better compete with its Chinese rival.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is aimed at bringing foldable tech to a broader audience with a more budget-friendly price. This model is expected to help Samsung push foldables into the mainstream market.
While displays for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are already in production for a possible summer release, Samsung appears to be choosing a separate timeline for its tri-fold and budget foldable releases.
There is still no confirmed release date, and plans could change again. However, the Q4 2025 window is the most recent schedule reported, and Samsung is expected to showcase both innovation and affordability when these devices finally debut.
Samsung’s strategy seems clear—go high-end and entry-level at the same time to dominate the foldable market before more competitors catch up.
