Samsung’s Quick Measure app has received a major update with the release of One UI 7, making it a standalone app for the first time.

Previously, Quick Measure was part of the AR Zone service on One UI 6.1 and earlier versions. Now, users can download the app separately from the Galaxy Store on their Galaxy devices running Android 15.

The Quick Measure app uses augmented reality (AR) and the 3D depth camera to take instant measurements of objects.

With the One UI 7 update, Samsung has streamlined the app’s features, removing it from the AR Zone alongside other tools like Deco Pic and AR Doodle.

Users can now download these features individually, making them more accessible. In addition to its new standalone status, the Quick Measure app has been given a fresh look.

The new app icon features a simple, clean design with a greyish color scheme and includes a ruler grid and camera lens symbol, reflecting its purpose of measuring objects and distances using the phone’s camera.

Currently, the update is available for users of the Galaxy S24 series who are testing the One UI 7 Beta. Samsung plans to release the update to more Galaxy devices soon.

This change should enhance the user experience, making it easier to access and use the app for quick measurements.
