Roku Content Now Integrated with Google TV

Roku is making it easier for Google TV users to access its programming. Soon, users will be able to search for and watch content from The Roku Channel directly through the Google TV home screen.

This move brings Roku’s library of over 80,000 movies and TV shows closer to users without requiring them to switch between apps.

Google TV will feature new category tabs highlighting recommended content from The Roku Channel. Users can also resume unfinished shows and movies seamlessly.

Additionally, more than 500 of Roku’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels will appear in the “live” tab. These channels include a variety of programming across news, sports, cooking, music, and more.

This integration is set to roll out in the coming weeks, following Roku’s recent move to bring its services to Android-powered TVs. As streaming platforms like Roku, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video become more integrated with smart TV systems, traditional cable providers face increasing competition.

The addition of subscription-free content through services like The Roku Channel only strengthens this trend, offering more convenience and value for users.
