Rokid, a Chinese tech company, has launched its new AR glasses called AR Spatial. These glasses, shown at CES 2025, are compact, powerful, and could compete with Apple’s Vision Pro.

Compact and Sleek Design

The AR Spatial glasses are small and lightweight, similar to regular sunglasses. They use Sony’s micro OLED technology to project a virtual screen up to 300 inches in size. The display offers a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, 600 nits brightness, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

Users can multitask with a 3-screen spatial browser, making the glasses useful for work, gaming, and entertainment.

Features for Everyone

AR Spatial is the first AR glasses to include intelligent myopia and pupillary adjustments. This means people with or without nearsightedness can use them comfortably without special lenses.

The glasses run on Rokid’s platform, which supports Android apps. They also connect to devices like the Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, laptops, and smartphones.

A Rokid representative said, “The glasses have a 215-inch virtual display with a 50-degree field of view. They also support 6DoF tracking, allowing users to interact with 3D spaces.”

Competing with Apple Vision Pro

Apple’s Vision Pro is powerful but expensive and bulky. The AR Spatial is smaller, lighter, and more affordable. Unlike the Vision Pro, it works with many devices and is not tied to one brand.

The AR Spatial is a strong option for people looking for a portable and user-friendly AR headset. It combines advanced features with a sleek design, making it ideal for gaming, education, and professional use.

Rokid’s AR Spatial glasses could change the AR market and challenge big players like Apple.
