Pimax has unveiled the Dream Air, a revolutionary new VR headset that combines cutting-edge technology with a compact, portable design.

Despite still waiting to ship their Crystal Super VR headset, Pimax has made a bold move with this new product, which is now the smallest full-feature 8K VR headset on the market.

    Key Features

8K Resolution with Micro-OLED Displays: Each panel offers 3840 x 3552 per eye at 90 Hz, delivering high-quality visuals.

Eye-Tracking & Auto-IPD Adjustment: Adjusts interpupillary distance for optimal clarity and enables foveated rendering.

Inside-Out SLAM Tracking: Uses four cameras for 6DoF tracking, eliminating the need for external base stations.

Ringless Controllers with Haptic Feedback: Sleek controllers with integrated hand tracking.

Spatial Audio: Integrated speakers for immersive sound.

Type-C DisplayPort: Ensures uncompressed visuals with a lightweight design.

    Design Inspired by Vision Pro

The Dream Air features a modern, curved design inspired by the Apple Vision Pro. It’s compact and portable, with a soft strap for comfort and vapor chamber cooling to prevent overheating.

    Use Cases and Versatility

While the Crystal Super targets seated VR experiences, the Dream Air is ideal for casual and social VR use.

Pimax is also developing Cobb, a standalone device powered by Snapdragon XR2, to complement the headset for independent VR activities.

    Pricing and Availability

The Pimax Dream Air is priced at $1,895, with a pre-order price of $1,199. Shipping begins in May 2025.
