The OnePlus Watch 3 is gearing up for release, and leaks reveal a host of new health-focused features, including ECG support and a “60-second checkup.” A new “Pro” variant is also in the works, promising enhanced capabilities.
The OnePlus Watch 2 offered basic health tracking, but the Watch 3 is stepping up its game. It introduces ECG functionality, allowing users to record and monitor their heart rhythms, including detecting sinus rhythm and atrial fibrillation.
Another feature is wrist temperature monitoring, similar to what’s available on the Pixel Watch, enabling users to track skin temperature overnight.
Perhaps the standout addition is the 60-second checkup, which evaluates four major health risks—heart health, vascular elasticity, body temperature changes, and sleep apnea—while measuring seven health indicators, including ECG, vascular age, heart rate, blood oxygen, pressure, wrist temperature, and sleep metrics.
Pro Model and Bigger Battery
In addition to the standard Watch 3, a OnePlus Watch 3 Pro has been spotted in FCC listings, hinting at a larger battery and possibly extended battery life.
While specifics about the Pro model remain under wraps, its inclusion suggests OnePlus is targeting users who prioritize longevity and premium features.
The OnePlus Watch 2 launched in March 2024, so the Watch 3 could debut soon. With these new features, OnePlus aims to compete more directly with advanced smartwatches like the Apple Watch and Pixel Watch.
Stay tuned for more details as the release date approaches.
