NVIDIA’s highly anticipated GeForce RTX 5080 is set to launch on January 21, 2025, according to reports from Hong Kong media outlet HKEPC.
This marks the first confirmed release date for NVIDIA’s new Blackwell GPU series aimed at gamers.
New Features and Upgrades
The RTX 5080 will feature the GB203-400 GPU with 10,752 CUDA cores, making it a high-end graphics card. It will retain 16 GB of memory, the same as its predecessor, the RTX 4080.
However, it will upgrade to GDDR7 memory, which is expected to be the fastest in the RTX 50 series, with speeds ranging from 30 to 32 Gbps.
What to Expect from the RTX 5080
The RTX 5080 will offer 960 GB/s memory bandwidth and a 256-bit memory bus. It will have a maximum board power of 400W and will support PCIe 5.0×16 for faster data transfer. Display connectors will include three DisplayPort 2.1a ports and one HDMI 2.1 port.
Upcoming Graphics Releases
The RTX 5080 will launch just days after Intel’s Arc B570 release on January 16.
AMD is also expected to release its Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 cards later in January, making the month a busy one for graphics enthusiasts.
