NordVPN has introduced NordWhisper, a new protocol designed to bypass network restrictions that block VPN connections.
This feature will help users access the internet freely in places like airports, offices, and schools, where VPNs are often restricted.
How It Works
NordWhisper uses web tunnel technology to make VPN traffic look like regular internet activity, preventing network filters from detecting and blocking it.
A similar technique was introduced by the Tor Project in 2024 to bypass censorship.
Slower but More Reliable
NordVPN warns that NordWhisper may be slower than traditional VPN connections, so users should only enable it when other VPN options are blocked.
Availability
The feature is being gradually rolled out on Windows, Android, and Linux, with support for more platforms coming later.
Users will find the option in NordVPN’s connection settings once it becomes available.
