WhatsApp has released a new update for its iOS app through the TestFlight beta program.

The update, version 25.3.10.76, brings an exciting feature that allows users to manage home screen chat notifications.

What’s New in the Update?

The latest update introduces a new way to control the home screen badge count for WhatsApp. Users can now choose how the badge updates, depending on their preferences.

WhatsApp offers two options:

  1. Reset Badge on App Open: The badge count will reset every time you open WhatsApp, showing only new unread messages.
  2. Keep Badge Active: The badge count will remain until all unread messages are marked as read, even if you open the app without reading the messages.

This feature is especially useful for people who receive a high volume of messages. It helps them manage notifications more effectively, allowing them to track only new messages or keep an ongoing count of all unread messages.

Additional Updates

Another feature included in the update allows users to mark all conversations as read in one simple action. This helps clear notifications without having to open each chat individually.

This feature was first introduced in the Android beta version and is now available to iOS users as well.

When Will This Be Available?

Currently, the home screen chat notification feature is rolling out to some beta testers and will be available to more users in the coming days.

WhatsApp is testing these features with a smaller group before making them widely available.
