New Steam Warning Helps You Avoid Dead Early Access Games

Steam is making changes to help players avoid games that may no longer be actively developed.

Starting soon, early access games on Steam will show a note if they haven’t been updated in the past year. The early access program lets players buy and play games that are still being worked on.

Each game has an information box where developers share details about the game, including how long they expect it to be in early access.

The new note will appear if a game hasn’t been updated for 12 months. This includes when no new updates, patch notes, or major changes have been released in the past year.

The note will help players know if a game has been left behind or abandoned. It’s up to the player to decide if they still want to play a game that hasn’t been updated in a while.

This new feature can help users avoid wasting time and money on games that may never be finished.
