Meta Quest Headsets Will Soon Show 3D Instagram Photos

Meta is starting to test a new feature that shows 3D photos on Instagram when viewed through Meta Quest VR headsets.

Using artificial intelligence, Meta can turn regular flat photos into immersive 3D images. This means you don’t need special 3D cameras to enjoy pictures with a sense of depth in virtual reality.

The test began this week, but not all users will see the feature right away. It will gradually roll out to some Meta Quest users as part of the latest v77 software update.

Along with 3D Instagram photos, Meta is introducing a new tool called Navigator. Navigator makes it easier to find your games, apps, friends, notifications, and system settings on the Quest headset.

You can open Navigator by pressing the Meta or Oculus button on your right controller. It lets you pin your favorite apps and access recently used ones quickly.

The v77 update also includes new features like support for Bluetooth Low Energy audio devices, a window that can follow you as you move, and a combined PC app called Horizon for PC, which merges Meta Quest Link, casting, and remote desktop functions.
