Mac Miller’s estate is set to release an animated short film titled Balloonerism, which will accompany his upcoming posthumous album of the same name.
The film will screen in select theaters on January 15 and 16, 2025. Tickets are priced at $5, and all proceeds from the screenings will benefit the Mac Miller Fund.

Balloonerism tells the story of a group of school friends who are transformed by the music of a chord organ.
They are launched into a shadow world and must navigate the challenges of adulthood. The animation is directed by Samuel Jerome Mason and is inspired by Mac Miller’s music and lyrics.
All attendees will receive limited-edition merchandise related to the film. The film is part of a broader effort to honor Mac Miller’s legacy and showcase his artistic talents.
The album Balloonerism will be released on January 17, 2025, and features collaborations with artists like SZA.
