Snapchat streaks track how many days in a row two users exchange snaps. If both users send at least one snap within every 24 hours for three days, a streak begins and is shown with a 🔥 emoji and a number in chats.

Over the years, streaks have become a symbol of friendship, commitment, and consistency on the app. Some users have now kept streaks alive for more than a decade.

As of January 12, 2026, the longest known Snapchat streak stands at 4,110 days, held by Katie Barden and Erin New. That streak dates back close to the feature’s launch in 2015.

Since Snapchat introduced streaks on April 6, 2015, thousands of users have maintained daily snaps in hopes of reaching the leaderboard. The numbers continue to rise each day for those who remain active.
