Logitech is expanding beyond conference rooms with a new millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar sensor called the Logitech Spot—a wireless, battery-powered device that lets companies track office usage without cameras.
The Spot sensor is designed to detect whether a room is occupied, using radar and environmental sensors to monitor air quality, temperature, and pressure. Logitech claims it lasts four years on a single battery, requiring no wiring.
While Logitech insists that the Spot only reports if a room is in use, it acknowledges that companies could access raw sensor data—raising concerns about more invasive tracking in the future.
Unlike cameras, the Spot doesn’t count people or track movement in real-time, but it could be used to optimize office layouts—or justify return-to-office mandates.
Currently, Logitech is integrating the Spot with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other workplace management tools.
While no price has been announced, Logitech hints that “crafty” users could develop custom applications.
The Logitech Spot launches later this year, setting the stage for a new wave of invisible workplace tracking technology.
