“Like a G6” Hitmakers The Cataracs & Dev Are Back With New Music

The 2010s are making a comeback, and so are The Cataracs and Dev. The trio behind the electro-pop smash Like a G6 is officially reuniting, bringing back the iconic sound that dominated clubs and airwaves over a decade ago.

Announcing their return on social media, The Cataracs teased, “2025’s over… It’s officially 2010.” The cryptic post sent fans into a frenzy, as many never stopped replaying their high-energy anthems. Their upcoming single, Whistle, is set to release on February 21.

The Cataracs, originally a duo, helped shape the electro-pop and hip-hop fusion sound of the early 2010s. One half of the duo, Niles “Cyranizzy” Hollowell-Dhar, later rebranded as KSHMR, finding massive success in the dance music scene. However, the DNA of The Cataracs’ club-ready sound never faded.

With Y2K nostalgia at an all-time high, their reunion feels like a perfect storm. The resurgence of early 2010s fashion, playlists packed with throwback bangers, and the continued dominance of electronic music all suggest that The Cataracs and Dev’s return will be a major moment.
