A new leak hints at a major design change for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max, set to launch this fall. According to reliable source Ice Universe, the next flagship device will have a thicker body than its predecessor, the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
The leaked dimensions suggest the iPhone 17 Pro Max will measure 8.725mm thick, compared to 8.25mm on the current model. While this increase of just under 0.5mm might seem small, it could allow for a larger battery, marking a significant improvement in battery life.
Beyond thickness, the phone’s overall dimensions reportedly remain unchanged, aligning with Apple’s tendency to retain core designs for multiple years.
However, some rumors indicate that Apple may modify the camera module and incorporate aluminum elements into the rear panel instead of an all-glass design.
Another rumor from the same source points to the introduction of an iPhone 17 Air, expected to be a super-thin 5.5mm model. This could mean a trade-off in battery life compared to the Pro Max version.
