The Icebreaker keyboard by Serene Industries is a high-end mechanical keyboard made from a single block of CNC-machined aluminum.
It costs $1,500 for the wired version, and the Bluetooth version is priced at $1,600—the same price as a 14-inch MacBook Pro.
The keyboard has hot-swappable aluminum keycaps, RGB backlighting, and a wedge-shaped design.
It also features dual silicone dampeners to reduce noise, a rotary dial, and a 4,000 mAh battery that lasts up to three months.
Customization Options
The Icebreaker comes in two base colors: clear or black. Choosing the black base adds $500 to the price.
The keyboard’s 65% layout measures 450 x 44 x 24mm. It also has micro-perforations on the keycaps, allowing the LED backlighting to shine through.
Premium Design
The design was inspired by the Flatiron Building in New York City. Serene Industries founder Denis Agarkov says the goal was to create a keyboard with a distinctive and challenging design.
For those looking to add accessories, the keyboard includes 1/4-20 inch mounting points for items like tripod mounts or monitor arms.
Availability
Preorders are open now, with production starting after January 28, 2025. Delivery timelines have not been confirmed.
