Huawei has just unveiled its 2025 edition MatePad Pro 13.2, and it’s making waves with its stunning design and features. While tablets often look alike with their metal frames and glass fronts, the MatePad Pro 13.2 stands out.
Instead of a silver metal frame, it uses a fiberglass-like material that’s lighter and has a unique texture. The bezels around the screen are thinner than any other tablet, giving it a 94% screen-to-body ratio — the best in the industry. The display is OLED with 144Hz refresh rates and an incredible anti-reflective matte coating called PaperMatte, which reduces reflections and adds extra grip when using a stylus.
The tablet is also incredibly thin, measuring under 5.5mm, giving it a sleek and surreal look when placed flat on a surface. Huawei’s MatePad Pro 13.2 is undoubtedly one of the best-looking tablets available.
While Huawei hasn’t revealed the exact chipset, it’s likely using their own Kirin silicon based on 7nm architecture. Performance is acceptable, though not at the 2025 flagship level. Editing a video with multiple tracks in CapCut ran smoothly, though rendering was slower compared to other devices like the iPad Pro.
A notable downside is the lack of Google Mobile Services due to U.S. sanctions. However, users can access Google apps like YouTube and Google Maps via a third-party software called MicroG, which works well, though it’s unofficial.
The tablet comes with an excellent keyboard case, which, despite being thin, has a full-sized keyboard and trackpad. The keyboard connects via Huawei’s NearLink tech, meaning it doesn’t need to be charged and can even work when detached.
Another impressive accessory is the M Pencil stylus, which offers over 10,000 pressure levels and provides an excellent drawing experience. The tablet runs on Huawei’s EMUI software based on Android, which supports multitasking and large-screen optimizations for Android apps.
The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 is expected to be priced between $600–$700 globally, following its Chinese launch at around $550. Despite the challenges posed by U.S. sanctions, Huawei continues to deliver remarkable hardware that sets a new standard in tablet design.
