GTA 6’s Launch Will Leave Out Last-Gen Consoles and PC Gamers

The highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is set to launch later this year, but millions of fans will unfortunately miss out on playing the game at launch.

The announcement from Rockstar Games has made it clear that only those with PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S will be able to play the game at release, leaving out last-gen console players and those on PC.

Last-Gen Consoles and PC Excluded

Unlike previous entries in the GTA series, GTA 6 will not be available on older consoles, meaning players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be left behind.

While this is disappointing for those who haven’t upgraded yet, the bigger issue lies with PC gamers. As of now, Rockstar has not confirmed a PC release date, meaning many gamers will have to wait months, or possibly years, before they can experience GTA 6.

This is a familiar pattern, as PC players had to wait significantly longer for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, but the long wait may be frustrating for fans hoping to play the game at launch.

A Potential Long Wait for PC Gamers

With GTA 6 likely releasing in late 2025 on consoles, PC gamers may have to wait until 2026 or beyond to see a port.

The delay for PC versions of Rockstar Games titles has been a consistent trend, and while fans are used to this, it’s a tough pill to swallow for those without access to the latest consoles.

The announcement leaves us hoping that Rockstar will deliver a timely PC release, but considering past delays, it might be a long wait before everyone can experience the next chapter in the GTA series.
