GTA 6 Loading Times May Take Longer Than Fans Expect

Fans of Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) are already preparing for some disappointment over the game’s loading times.

Discussions on the r/GTA6 subreddit show that many are comparing GTA 6’s potential load times to the near-instant loading speeds of Death Stranding 2, a recent popular game.

One user on the subreddit noted that expecting GTA 6 to surpass every previous game in every way, including loading speed, might lead to disappointment. Others agreed that GTA 6’s load times will likely be longer than Death Stranding 2’s.

Even GTA V, the previous game in the series, still takes a few seconds to load on the PlayStation 5, despite being faster than on older consoles.

Some fans pointed out that Rockstar games usually only have one main loading screen at the start of a session. After that, load times are rare except when saving or fast traveling, so a few seconds of loading shouldn’t be a major issue.

The main reason for longer loading times in GTA 6 is expected to be the complexity of the game world. The AI for numerous non-player characters (NPCs), along with detailed models of buildings, vehicles, and other elements, will likely slow down loading compared to simpler games.

While Death Stranding 2’s loading speed is impressive, GTA 6 is unlikely to match it. Fans are advised to keep their expectations realistic but can still look forward to a fast and smooth gaming experience.
