Grand Theft Auto fans were buzzing with excitement on December 27, 2024, after Rockstar Games removed a post from its Instagram account, sparking rumors that new content related to GTA 6 might be on the way.

The removal followed a pattern fans had been tracking, with Rockstar maintaining a total of 27 posts on Instagram for some time, fueling speculation that the number had significance tied to the highly anticipated game.

Earlier in the week, Rockstar had replaced a post on December 24, 2024, to maintain the count at 27, further stoking the fire of speculation.

Fans believed that the removal of the Instagram post on December 27 could mean a major reveal, possibly the second GTA 6 trailer or new screenshots.

The excitement was palpable, with fans like TGG, a popular GTA YouTuber, expressing their hype on social media.

Many fans shared their anticipation with comments like “OMG TGG ITS HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING ITS HAPPENING.”

Even prominent figures in the GTA community, such as @DarkViperAU, joined in the excitement.

However, when Rockstar Games posted an update about the Rockstar Store Holiday Sale instead of the anticipated GTA 6 content, fans were left disappointed.

The new post brought the total Instagram count back to 27 but did not meet expectations, leaving many fans frustrated in the comments.

The first GTA 6 trailer was released in 2023, and the next trailer is expected to drop before the game’s scheduled release in Fall 2025.

While the removal of posts on Instagram had fans hopeful, the latest post from Rockstar dashed those hopes for now.
