Google Drive Desktop App Launches for Windows on Arm

Google has launched a beta version of the Google Drive desktop app for Windows on Arm, making it compatible with devices running Windows 11 on Snapdragon chips.

The app offers the same features as the version for Intel and AMD-based computers, except for the Outlook Meet plugin, which is currently unavailable.

To use the app, Windows 11 is required, along with Microsoft WebView2, which the installer will prompt users to install.

This update is a step towards greater software parity for Snapdragon-powered PCs, which has already seen native app support for programs like Chrome, Blender, and Start11.

Despite this, many apps still rely on Microsoft’s Prism emulation, which continues to improve in performance.
