Google Chrome Continues to Dominate the Browser Market

Google’s Chrome browser has proven its dominance in the market, with a 66.88% share as of January 2025.

Despite Microsoft’s efforts to promote Edge—including ads and prompts within Windows to encourage users to switch—Chrome’s market share continues to grow, increasing by 1.65 points year-over-year.

Microsoft’s push for Edge to be the default browser on Windows 11 has not had the desired effect. While Edge‘s market share grew to 13%, it remains far behind Chrome, which is now more popular than ever.

Google’s resilience in maintaining its dominance highlights how users prioritize Chrome’s features and performance over privacy and security concerns.

The ongoing battle between Microsoft and Google continues, with both companies vying for control over browser usage, but Chrome remains unchallenged in its lead.
