The Epic Games Store has surprised gamers with its first-ever free game giveaway for mobile devices.
Starting now, players can download Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee for free on Android and iOS until February 20.
This marks a major step for Epic Games, which has been giving away free games on macOS and Windows for years but had yet to extend the program to mobile platforms.
The giveaway comes three months after the company announced plans to bring its popular free games program to mobile users.
To claim Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, which usually costs $7.99, players will need to sideload the Epic Games Store app on Android or follow specific instructions for iOS and iPadOS. The iOS version is currently limited to users in the European Union.
This mobile giveaway follows the ongoing free game offer for PC users, Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery, which is available until January 30.
Epic Games has promised more free games for mobile users in the future, making this the start of a new era for its mobile storefront.
