Creature Commandos Post-Credit Scene Explained and How It Connects to the DCU

Creature Commandos — MAX

The finale of Creature Commandos Season 1 wraps up with shocking twists, setting up future storylines for both the series and the broader DC Universe.

Here’s a breakdown of what happened, how it sets up Season 2, and its connection to James Gunn’s DCU.

Creature Commandos Ending Explained

In the finale, Princess Ilana (Maria Bakalova) is revealed as the villain, aligning with Circe’s (Anya Charlotra) clairvoyant vision of Ilana causing destruction in the DC Universe.

Despite the Commandos’ mission to kill Ilana, they were misled by a complex series of manipulations, including Clayface impersonating MacPherson. Ilana’s true goal was to cover her tracks and avoid facing her fate as the antagonist.

The Bride (Indira Varma) ultimately kills Ilana after she murders Nina Mazursky (Zoë Chao), The Bride’s only friend. With Ilana dead, The Bride is given a new team of Commandos by John Economos (Steve Agee) that includes Weasel, Doctor Phosphorus, G.I. Robot, Nosferata, Khalis, and King Shark.

Post-Credits Scene

The post-credits scene reveals that Eric Frankenstein (David Harbour) is alive and recovering, continuing his obsession with The Bride. This sets up future developments for his character.

How Creature Commandos Sets Up Season 2

Season 2 is confirmed but will likely feature a new mission with The Bride leading a fresh team. Nina’s death means the team will consist of Weasel, G.I. Robot, Doctor Phosphorus, Khalis, Nosferata, and King Shark. The timeline for Season 2 depends on the DCU’s schedule, with a 2026 release being a possibility.

Creature Commandos and the DCU

Creature Commandos introduces characters and plot points that could tie into the broader DCU. Notably, Rick Flag Sr. (Frank Grillo) will appear in both Peacemaker Season 2 and Superman.

Other plot threads include the potential for Clayface’s return, the mysterious inclusion of Gorilla Grodd, and the introduction of The Metal Men through Dr. Will Magnus (Alan Tudyk).

The biggest unresolved question remains Wonder Woman and Themyscira, with multiple references to the Amazonian culture throughout the series.

While Superman and Batman are already on the DCU slate, the future of Wonder Woman remains unclear, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return.
