Nintendo didn’t officially attend CES 2025, but it may have stolen the spotlight. Accessories-maker Genki showcased a 3D-printed mockup of what it claims is the Nintendo Switch 2.
The mockup suggests the Switch 2 will be wider than the original console, with slightly larger Joy-Con controllers for improved comfort.
While it remains smaller than a Steam Deck OLED, the mockup hints at a closer resemblance to Valve’s handheld in terms of size.
According to Genki’s CEO, Eddie Tsai, the Joy-Cons will attach to the console using magnets instead of sliding rails. A release button on the back of each Joy-Con will allow users to detach them easily.
The Joy-Cons may also include an optical sensor, potentially enabling mouse-like functionality with additional attachments.
This isn’t the first glimpse of the rumored console. In December, a Chinese case manufacturer shared a 3D-printed mockup resembling a larger Switch.
Accessories-maker Dbrand later announced a “Killswitch 2” case, claiming it was based on the console’s actual dimensions.
Leaks have also hinted at a new USB-C port and a mysterious square button labeled “C” on the Joy-Con.
Nintendo has promised to reveal the Switch’s successor before April 2025. With leaks and mockups surfacing frequently, an official announcement seems imminent.
Until then, fans can only speculate about the next generation of Nintendo’s beloved console.
