CATL’s Fast-Charging Hybrid Battery Could Redefine EV Range

Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), the world’s largest EV battery maker, has unveiled its Freevoy Super Hybrid Battery.

This groundbreaking technology offers a 248-mile electric range and can charge in just 10 minutes, addressing two major EV concerns—range anxiety and slow charging.

The Freevoy battery combines lithium-ion and sodium-ion technology, improving performance by 20% and enabling operation in freezing temperatures.

It’s designed for extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), with 174 miles of range after just 10 minutes of charging.

CATL expects 30 hybrid models to feature Freevoy batteries by next year, accelerating the shift towards electrification.

While competition in the fast-charging EV market intensifies, CATL’s Freevoy battery offers a practical solution for drivers seeking fast, efficient, and affordable EV charging.
