BTS’s Jungkook is the Only Male Asian Artist on Apple’s Met Gala Albums List

BTS star Jungkook may be away serving in the military, but his influence continues to shine worldwide. His solo debut album Golden was recently named one of Apple Music’s “Met Gala-Worthy Albums,” making him the only male Asian artist on the list.

Apple Music’s list celebrates albums that match the bold, glamorous spirit of the Met Gala. Jungkook’s Golden joined works by global icons like Madonna, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Coco Jones, and Dua Lipa.

Jungkook’s Global Power Stays Strong

Even though Jungkook is currently fulfilling his mandatory military duty in South Korea, fans around the world are still celebrating his impact.

Golden was released in 2023 and quickly broke records worldwide. Its mix of smooth pop, R&B, and emotional lyrics helped the album stand out, and it continues to earn recognition two years later.

Fans shared their excitement on social media, calling Jungkook’s achievement “historic” and praising his lasting influence. Many highlighted how impressive it was for a single album to compete with legendary artists on such a major list.

Serving, But Still Winning

Jungkook began his military service in December 2023 alongside BTS bandmate Jimin. He trained at the 5th Infantry Division and now works as a cook in his unit. He is expected to be discharged on June 11, 2025.

Despite his absence from the spotlight, Jungkook’s name continues to appear in global headlines. This recent honor proves his music remains powerful and relevant—even while he’s away.
