Beyoncé, Swift, and Others To Use Grammys Stage to Support LA Fire Relief

This year’s Grammy Awards will take on a new tone, as the celebration of music also serves as a fundraiser for the ongoing wildfire crisis in Los Angeles.

Scheduled for this Sunday at the Crypto.com Arena, the event will still feature major performances but with a noticeable shift in focus.

Not Just a Celebration
While the Grammys are traditionally a glamorous occasion, Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, emphasized that this year’s ceremony would carry a deeper purpose.

“It’s not going to be a typical Grammy party atmosphere,” he said. “Our goal is to utilize music to make a difference.” The funds raised will aid those impacted by the devastating fires that have claimed 29 lives and destroyed homes and businesses in Southern California.

Grammys Responding to Crisis

The typical Grammy week parties have been mostly canceled, and instead, funds from the ceremony will go to relief efforts. Performers will honor first responders and highlight those in need.

The prestigious Clive Davis Gala, traditionally held the night before, will also feature a fundraising component this year.

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift Among Big Nominees

Beyoncé, with 11 nominations, leads this year’s Grammys, making history as the most nominated artist alongside her husband, Jay-Z. Her album, Cowboy Carter, has earned her a spot in the Album of the Year category, where she faces off against André 3000, Billie Eilish, Charli XCX, and Taylor Swift.

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, lost her home in the fires, but Beyoncé has already donated $2.5 million to relief efforts.

Special Performances and Tributes

The evening will feature performances from Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and a special tribute to Quincy Jones, with Stevie Wonder and Janelle Monáe. Hosted by Trevor Noah, the ceremony promises to blend celebration with humanitarian efforts.

Amid the ongoing crisis, the Grammys are taking on a new role as both a cultural event and a platform for raising awareness and funds for wildfire victims.
