FC Barcelona has revealed their new away kit for the 2025/26 season. The jersey honors NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his famous “Mamba Mentality.” Designed in partnership with Nike and the Kobe Bryant brand, the kit was launched during the club’s U.S. summer tour.
The shirt features a light yellow-gold base with Persian violet and black accents, inspired by the Los Angeles Lakers’ colors. The jersey also includes a snakeskin pattern and a 3D silicone Barça crest. In a first for the club, the Kobe Sheath logo replaces Nike’s usual Swoosh.
The front of the jersey shows Spotify’s logo in black, while the Ambilight (for the men’s team) and Bimbo (for the women’s team) logos appear on the sleeves.
The shorts are black with violet side panels and include both the Barça crest and Kobe logo. Player numbers are printed in Team Gold. The look is completed with black socks featuring the word “Barça” in violet.
The full collection includes:
- A pre-game shirt
- A basketball kit
- A tracksuit
- Limited-edition sneakers: Nike Kobe 4 Protro and Air Force 1 Low Protro in Team Gold/Black/Persian Violet, priced at $190 each. These will be released on July 31, 2025, through Nike.com and select retailers.
The kit’s slogan, “Better is the only choice,” reflects Kobe Bryant’s mindset and his strong connection with Barça. The NBA star admired the club’s style and had friendships with players like Ronaldinho and Pau Gasol.
The three-year partnership between FC Barcelona and the Kobe brand will continue through the 2027/28 season. The new kit is expected to debut in a friendly match against Vissel Kobe in Japan.
Fans and sports media praised the design on social media. Some called it “reptilian armor” in tribute to Bryant’s nickname, the Black Mamba.
