A major leak has taken place this week, as concept images from Avengers: Doomsday surfaced online, revealing key characters and plot details. The leak came from an artist at Marvel, though their future with the company remains unclear.
What’s surprising is that Disney seems to be taking a relaxed approach, allowing the images to spread widely across social media without issuing aggressive copyright claims or attempting to remove them.
This is a significant leak for the MCU, and Disney may have realized that trying to remove every instance of these images would be a lost cause. Fans have already shared them extensively, and while hardcore followers are buzzing about it, the general public may not yet be fully aware.
The other possibility is that Disney has recognized the leak as a positive thing. The concept art has been well-received by fans, showing an exciting new take on the MCU. It features a medieval-themed Battleworld ruled by God Emperor Doom.
Characters revealed so far include Doom, Doctor Strange (in a sheriff role), Sue Storm (possibly as Doom’s wife), an imprisoned Reed Richards, Bucky Barnes in a dungeon, and a possible recast Black Panther in Wakanda. Also seen are Hulk and She-Hulk in Latveria, as well as Star Lord with White Vision, Wong, and members of the Young Avengers.
However, some big names, such as Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Captain America, and Thor, are noticeably missing from the concept art. It’s important to remember that these are just early designs, and the final film may include more characters.
While some believe Disney leaked the images on purpose to build excitement, there is no solid proof of that. However, with the positive reactions to the images, Disney may be content to let the leak stay in the public eye.
