Apple’s Most Affordable iPhone May Launch Next Week

Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone SE 4, its most affordable smartphone, by next week, according to a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The device, also referred to as the iPhone 16E, was initially expected this week, but Apple has reportedly shifted the timeline slightly.

A Quiet Launch?

Unlike major iPhone events, the iPhone SE 4 might not get a big reveal. Gurman suggests Apple may announce it through a press release rather than hosting a launch event.

Meanwhile, Apple is also planning:

• A smaller announcement this week, possibly today.
• A Friday announcement related to the Apple Vision Pro.
• A new MacBook Air with an M4 chip, expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

iPhone SE 4: What to Expect

The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to resemble the iPhone 14, featuring a 6.06-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a notch for Face ID. Other expected specs include:

• Apple A18 chip, the same one used in the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup.
• 8GB of RAM, enabling Apple Intelligence features.
• Single rear camera, possibly the same sensor as the iPhone 16.
• Water resistance rating, though the exact level is unknown.
• $499 price tag, a $70 increase from the previous iPhone SE (2022).

At this price, the iPhone SE 4 will directly compete with the upcoming Google Pixel 9a, which is expected to launch at the same cost.

With the launch now imminent, Apple fans won’t have to wait much longer to see how the iPhone SE 4 stacks up in the budget smartphone market.
