Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance,” teeing up what could be the final chapter for Tom Hardy’s Marvel antihero Eddie Brock/Venom.
Directed by Kelly Marcel, who wrote the previous two Venom films, the symbiote trilogy finale hits theaters October 25th, 2024. The trailer shows Hardy’s Venom facing off against an unknown adversary played by Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The Last Dance” follows the events of 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” and appears to connect to last year’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in which Brock was transported briefly to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While plot details are still under wraps, the ominous title suggests this may be the last we see of Hardy’s version of the iconic alien symbiote for a while. Sony has not announced definitive future plans for their Spider-Man universe beyond December 2024’s “Kraven the Hunter.
In addition to Hardy, Ejiofor and Juno Temple, the “Venom 3” cast includes (additional cast members). As Sony celebrates Spider-Man’s 60th anniversary in 2023, the fate of their Marvel universe remains uncertain after next year.
