Samsung is preparing to release another beta update for its One UI 8.5 software, signalling that the testing programme is not yet complete for the Galaxy S25 series.
The company recently rolled out One UI 8.5 Beta 3 to Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra users. Now, a new test build has appeared, suggesting that a Beta 4 update is in development and could arrive later this month.
According to information shared by a reliable tipster, the new build carries the version number S938BXXU7ZZA5. This indicates that Samsung is continuing internal testing beyond Beta 3, with a wider rollout expected in late January 2026.
The upcoming Beta 4 update is expected to focus on fixing issues reported by users during the Beta 3 phase. It may also bring further improvements to system performance and overall stability. If the update performs well, it could be the final beta release before Samsung launches the stable version of One UI 8.5. However, additional beta updates remain possible if more testing is needed.
One UI 8.5 Beta 3 already introduced several refinements. These included fixes to the lock screen clock, improved visibility in the Phone app, enhancements to the Now Briefing feature, smoother Live Effects in the Gallery app, reduced battery drain, and better widget search visibility.
Samsung has also updated the One UI Home app as part of the beta programme. The January 2026 version brings noticeably smoother animations and reduced input lag on the Galaxy S25 series, pointing to a focus on visual polish as the software nears completion.
In addition, the beta includes the January 2026 security patch, which delivers dozens of fixes across Android, Samsung’s One UI system, and Exynos-powered devices. These updates aim to improve device security, stability and reliability.
Samsung has confirmed that the stable One UI 8.5 update will debut with the launch of the Galaxy S26 series, expected in early 2026. After that, the update will gradually roll out to other supported Galaxy devices.
For now, beta users are advised to watch for further announcements as Samsung prepares the next stage of the One UI 8.5 rollout.
