Samsung One UI 8

Samsung One UI 8 Is Coming This Summer — Here’s What to Expect

Samsung is preparing to release One UI 8, its next major software update for Galaxy devices, this summer 2025. The update is based on Android 16, and for the first time, Samsung is planning to launch it much earlier than usual.

Google has confirmed that Android 16 is official, and Samsung already started beta testing One UI 8 for the Galaxy S25 series on May 28, 2025. Users in Germany, Korea, the UK, the US, India, and Poland can now join the beta program through the Samsung Members app.

Samsung usually releases major updates in October or November, but One UI 8 may arrive as early as July 2025. This earlier launch will align with Samsung’s next big hardware release—the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. These upcoming foldables will ship with One UI 8 pre-installed.

Eligible Devices for One UI 8:

  • Galaxy S25 series (S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge)
  • Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S22 series
  • Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and newer foldables
  • Galaxy Tab S9 and S10 series
  • Mid-range models like Galaxy A55 and A35

Samsung’s new update policy promises up to seven years of OS support for select models, starting with the Galaxy S24 series.

With this shift to summer releases, Samsung hopes to stay closer to Google’s Android launch schedule, giving Galaxy users faster access to new features.
