Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Series and Watch Ultra 2 Full Details Leak Ahead of Launch

Samsung’s next-generation smartwatches are no longer a secret. Major leaks have revealed almost everything about the upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 lineup and the Watch Ultra 2. These new models are expected to be announced at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025.

One of the biggest changes this year is the introduction of a unified “squircle” design across all models. This shape, a mix between a square and a circle, first appeared on the Galaxy Watch Ultra last year. Now, it’s coming to the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, giving the entire lineup a modern and consistent look.

The Galaxy Watch 8 will be available in two sizes to fit different wrist sizes. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will bring back the popular rotating bezel, which many Samsung fans missed on the Watch 7 series. It’s expected to feature a 1.5-inch screen, a 46mm casing, LTE support, and 64GB of storage. For those who need something more rugged, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is designed for outdoor use and will likely come in one size with a tough, durable build.

All three models will run on Samsung’s new Exynos W1000 chip, offering better speed and power efficiency. They will launch with One UI 8 Watch, based on Google Wear OS 6, bringing several advanced health and fitness features. These include an Antioxidant Index that measures antioxidant levels in just five seconds, Bedtime Guidance for improved sleep tracking, and Running Coach with Vascular Load to help users improve fitness and heart health.

Another major change is the addition of three buttons on the side, including a new customizable Quick button for faster access to apps and features. The Classic model will focus on smooth, easy navigation with its rotating bezel, while the Ultra model is built for outdoor durability.

There are also rumors of a potential blood glucose monitoring feature, although Samsung has not confirmed this yet.

The official launch of the Galaxy Watch 8 series and Watch Ultra 2 is expected at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2025, alongside the debut of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 smartphones. The new smartwatches should hit the market by late July or early August 2025.

With a fresh design, faster performance, and new health features, the Galaxy Watch 8 series and Watch Ultra 2 could be Samsung’s most advanced smartwatches yet. The return of the rotating bezel will please long-time fans, while outdoor users will find plenty to like with the rugged Ultra 2.
