Lucid Motors has officially launched Android Auto support for all Lucid Air vehicles with its latest software update, Lucid OS 2.7.0. The update is rolling out starting today in North America and Europe.
Lucid Air drivers can now connect their Android smartphones to their car’s 34-inch Glass Cockpit display to access popular apps for maps, media, and messaging. The system supports both wired and wireless connections. Users with Android 11 or higher can connect wirelessly, while Android 9.0 is the minimum version required for USB use.
Lucid introduced Apple CarPlay in 2023, but Android users had to wait—until now. Lucid Gravity owners will also get Android Auto soon.
Lucid’s Head of Software Engineering, Dr. Jean-Philippe Gauthier, said, “Android Auto is one of the most requested features by Lucid owners, and we are delighted to announce that we have begun rolling out a software update to add this capability.”
To use Android Auto in Lucid Air:
- Android 9.0+ for wired connection
- Android 11+ for wireless
- Active data plan
- Compatible USB cable (if wired)
Lucid’s move finally gives Android users equal footing with iPhone users in its luxury electric cars, further improving the driving experience.
