Apple is planning to update the look of many of its operating systems this year, including tvOS 19 for Apple TV and watchOS 12 for Apple Watch, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Gurman previously said that iOS 19, iPadOS 19, and macOS 16 will feature a new glass-like design with added translucency. Now, he reports that these changes will also reach Apple TV and Apple Watch, although exact details are still unknown.
The redesigns are said to be inspired by visionOS, the system that powers Apple’s Vision Pro headset. Gurman says Apple wants a more unified look across all platforms. For example, iPadOS 19 may feel more like macOS, with better multitasking and a new menu bar when used with a Magic Keyboard.
The internal codename for iOS 19 is “Solarium,” hinting at transparent or light-filled design elements like glass-style menus and buttons. Apple is expected to reveal these updates at WWDC 2025, starting June 9.
While AI features will be part of the event, Gurman believes the redesigned software will be the main highlight at this year’s conference.
