Netflix has officially confirmed that Bridgerton Season 4 will not premiere until 2026. The update came on May 14, along with a first look at the next season’s lead couple—Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha.
The new season will be based on Julia Quinn’s novel An Offer from a Gentleman, which tells the love story of Benedict and Sophie, a maid with a hidden identity and big dreams. Netflix described Sophie as a clever and determined woman with secrets of her own.

In a sneak peek, Benedict is seen wearing a mask at a ball, where he shares a glance with a mysterious woman in silver—hinting at the magical start of their romance.

Luke Thompson said the story has a “Cinderella” twist, and he’s excited to bring it into the Bridgerton world. He was confirmed as the male lead in July 2024.
In Season 3, Benedict ended his fling with Lady Tilley Arnold and shared his desire to keep exploring life. “There comes a point where you have to make a choice and commit,” Thompson said.

While filming for Season 4 has started in London, Netflix hasn’t confirmed if it’s finished. Showrunner Jess Brownell said the series takes around two years to complete, due to writing, filming, editing, and dubbing.

Bridgerton has already been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6, and executive producer Shonda Rhimes aims to adapt all eight books in the series.
