A rumored $100 price tag for Grand Theft Auto VI has sparked anger among many Xbox gamers. While Rockstar Games hasn’t confirmed the price yet, some players are already saying they won’t pay that much.
The talk started when some industry analysts said it wouldn’t be surprising if Rockstar charged $100 for GTA 6.
Many people didn’t believe it at first. But then, Nintendo announced an $80 price for physical copies of its upcoming Mario Kart World for the Switch 2.
Now, the GTA 6 price rumor doesn’t seem so crazy.
Add to that the new tariffs introduced by US President Donald Trump, which could raise the cost of video games and consoles in the U.S., and the price debate is heating up even more.
On Reddit, Xbox players are not happy.
“I won’t buy it till it is on sale,” one user said.
“I’ll just wait for a sale or never buy it,” another added. “I didn’t even finish GTA V.”
While it’s true that GTA 6 is expected to offer over 100 hours of gameplay, many gamers still feel that $100 is just too much.
The game is set to launch this fall, and official pricing will likely be revealed this summer. Until then, fans will have to wait—and hope the rumors aren’t true.
