The vivo V50 is officially launched in India, bringing several upgrades over its predecessor, the V40.

While the overall design and features remain familiar, the V50 introduces some key improvements, including a larger 6,000 mAh battery and faster 90W wired charging.

Key Specifications

The display on the V50 remains a 6.77-inch OLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.

However, the new quad-curved design features a more subtle curvature compared to its predecessor, along with Diamond Shield Glass, which vivo claims will offer better drop resistance.

The panel can now reach a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, ensuring a bright and clear viewing experience.

Under the hood, the V50 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, though it lacks an expandable storage option.

Camera and Software

The V50’s camera system includes a trio of 50MP lenses with Zeiss optics. The main shooter offers optical image stabilization (OIS), while the ultrawide camera comes with autofocus. Additionally, the V50 features a 50MP front-facing camera, making it ideal for selfies.

On the software front, the V50 runs Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15. Vivo promises three Android updates and four years of security patches, ensuring the device stays current for years to come.

The V50 is also IP68/69 rated for water and dust resistance and includes an optical fingerprint sensor embedded in the display.

Pricing and Availability

The vivo V50 is available in three colors: Rose Red, Starry Night, and Titanium Grey. The pricing starts at INR 34,999 ($403) for the 8/128GB variant, with the top-tier 12/512GB model priced at INR 40,999 ($472).

Open sales will begin on February 25 via vivo India’s official online store and partnered retailers.
