NVIDIA is preparing a powerful workstation GPU with 96GB of GDDR7 memory, likely part of its RTX Blackwell series. According to reports from ComputerBase, the card will use a 512-bit memory bus and 3GB memory modules.

This GPU is expected to be a workstation model, potentially the RTX 6000 Blackwell or RTX 8000 Blackwell, and will feature the PG153 board, which has not been used in any gaming cards so far.

Key Specifications

  • Memory: 96GB of GDDR7 ECC memory
  • Bus: 512-bit, with 3GB modules in a clamshell configuration
  • GPU: Likely the GB202 GPU, which is the only Blackwell desktop GPU with a 512-bit memory bus
  • CUDA Cores: The card will likely exceed 21,760 CUDA cores, based on NVIDIA’s history of workstation GPUs having more cores than gaming models.

Gaming vs. Workstation Models

The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are set to use 2GB GDDR7 memory modules, while the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU uses 3GB GDDR7 chips.

The RTX Blackwell workstation GPU, however, will offer far more memory, catering to professionals who require high-performance computing for tasks like AI and 3D rendering.
