Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show is already making waves, thanks to a new NFL and Apple Music commercial.

The promo, which aired during the NFC Championship game, featured the instrumental for Lamar’s controversial hit, “Not Like Us.” Fans are now speculating whether the diamond-certified diss track aimed at Drake will be part of the performance.

The ad, narrated by Fox broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt, teased Lamar’s halftime show: “Catch Kendrick Lamar at the top of his game.” Social media quickly erupted with mixed reactions.

One fan on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Still don’t think he’ll perform it at the Super Bowl, but IMAGINE.”

Another user referenced Drake’s ongoing lawsuit with Universal Music Group over the song’s promotion, saying, “Good times! Remember when that sore loser tried to censor NLU? Now, this song is being performed at the Super Bowl.”

The Drake vs. Kendrick Feud

“Not Like Us” was released in the summer of 2024 during a heated feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

The track was a response to Drake’s “The Heart Pt. 6,” where Drake took aim at Lamar. In “Not Like Us,” Lamar makes bold claims about Drake’s personal life and influence on hip-hop culture.

The song has since become one of Lamar’s biggest hits, achieving diamond certification and earning a Grammy nomination. Drake has addressed the song multiple times, including during a livestream with Adin Ross.

Special Guests and Expectations

Lamar’s halftime show will feature SZA, who collaborated with him on tracks like “luther” and “gloria” from his latest album, GNX.

The two artists are also set to embark on the Grand National Tour this April. In the Super Bowl commercial, SZA playfully dumps a bucket of Gatorade on Lamar, adding to the anticipation.

What Fans Can Expect

While it’s unclear if “Not Like Us” will make the setlist, the buzz around the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show is undeniable.

Whether Kendrick Lamar uses the stage to reignite his feud with Drake or simply delivers a powerhouse performance, fans will be watching closely.

Super Bowl LIX takes place this Sunday, and all eyes will be on Lamar to see if he makes history.
