Arc System Works has announced the release date for its upcoming anime, Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers. The new series will premiere on April 5, 2025, alongside the release of a new character, Unika, in the Guilty Gear -Strive- video game. A fresh trailer and poster have also been unveiled, showcasing the return of fan-favorite characters and a deeper dive into the story.

What is Dual Rulers About?

The anime picks up where Guilty Gear -Strive- left off, continuing the story of Sol Badguy and the Guilty Gear universe. While Sol remains central, the series focuses on Sin Kiske, the son of Ky Kiske and Dizzy. Sin is a human-gear hybrid who works to bridge the gap between humans and gears in a world scarred by war.

A new character, Unika, opposes Sin’s vision, believing humans and gears cannot live together. The series will explore their conflict and Sin’s efforts to change Unika’s mind while tackling larger threats in the Guilty Gear universe.

Returning Characters and Studio

The anime features iconic characters such as:

  • Sol Badguy
  • Ky Kiske
  • Dizzy
  • Bridget
  • Jack-O
  • Baiken
  • Ramlethal
  • Elphelt Valentine

Dual Rulers is produced by Sanzigen, using cel-shaded CGI to replicate the visuals of the game’s cutscenes. This approach keeps the anime closely tied to the style and energy fans love about the franchise.

Trailer and Poster Highlights

The trailer highlights the tension between Sin and Unika while teasing action-packed moments with returning characters. A new promo poster showcases the extended cast, promising an exciting mix of battles and emotional storytelling.

Fans can look forward to Dual Rulers exploring new dimensions of the Guilty Gear world, bringing its unique blend of magic, technology, and drama to life.
