The Weeknd is gearing up for a huge 2025. On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the 35-year-old artist took the stage at Spotify’s Billions Club Live in Los Angeles, performing a thrilling setlist of songs that hit over 1 billion streams.

The Toronto-born singer, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, addressed his “OG XO fans” in the crowd, sharing his excitement for the upcoming year. “2024 is almost done, but 2025 we’ve got some new s— coming up.

New album, new tour, new movie, new everything — we’re shutting this s— down,” he said. While no official tour dates have been confirmed, fans are eager for what’s to come.

The Weeknd performed hits like “Starboy,” “Blinding Lights,” and “Earned It” for nearly 2,000 of his top Spotify fans. Reflecting on his past hits, he shared a nostalgic moment before performing “The Hills,” saying, “you’ve got me back in time.” He also hinted at revisiting his earlier music, saying, “maybe after the stadium tour we’ll go back in time.”

After closing with “São Paulo,” he told the crowd, “I’ll see you in 2025, it’s going to be a big year.”

The Weeknd’s upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, is set for release on Jan. 24, 2025. It marks the final installment of his trilogy, following After Hours and Dawn FM. A one-night-only show at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, Calif., will follow the album’s release.

In a reflective video shared when announcing the album, The Weeknd wrote, “I look in the mirror and feel both old and new stuck in limbo and unable to move. I still haven’t faced myself.” He continued, “The very thing that once made me invincible failed me on the world stage. A new trauma surfaced, opening floodgates. A new path awaits.”
