K-pop sensation Seventeen has solidified its place as one of the biggest acts in the music world, closing in on 10 million album sales and performing in front of over 1.5 million fans in 2024.
The 13-member group, under Pledis Entertainment, has had an incredible year. By November 2024, Seventeen sold 9.76 million albums, with the group on track to surpass 10 million sales for the second year in a row.
Their major releases this year included the compilation album “17 IS RIGHT HERE” in April, the sub-unit album “THIS MAN” in June, and the mini-album “SPILL THE FEELS” in October.
The album “17 IS RIGHT HERE” set a new K-pop record, selling 3 million copies in just 10 days. “THIS MAN” became the top-selling K-pop unit album in its first week, while “SPILL THE FEELS” became the best-selling K-pop album of 2024, with nearly 4 million copies sold by November.
Seventeen’s global appeal was further highlighted by their concert tours. The group performed in front of over 1.1 million concertgoers, with the total number expected to surpass 1.5 million, including livestream audiences. Notable performances included the Glastonbury Festival in June and Lollapalooza Berlin in September.
In addition to their musical achievements, Seventeen became the first K-pop group to be appointed as UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador for Youth in June.
This milestone followed their address at UNESCOโs 13th Youth Forum in 2023, and the group pledged a $1 million donation to UNESCO’s Global Youth Grant Scheme.
As Seventeen approaches their 10th anniversary in 2025, they are preparing for more exciting events, including a “SEVENTEEN ‘RIGHT HERE’ WORLD TOUR IN ASIA” and their debut performance at Mexico’s Tecate Pa’l Norte 2025.
