Apple is set to release new versions of the HomePod Mini and Apple TV in 2025, featuring a new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth combo chip, according to a report by Mark Gurman for Bloomberg.

The chip, codenamed “Proxima,” is designed to reduce Apple’s reliance on Broadcom for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi components.

The Proxima chip has been in development for several years and will be produced by TSMC, the same company behind Apple’s Silicon chips.

While the exact release dates for the new devices are not confirmed, the chip could also appear in iPhones later in 2025 and in iPads and Macs in 2026.

In addition to these products, Apple is reportedly working on a standalone security camera and a wall-mounted smart display to control smart home devices, as part of its broader push into the smart home market.
