Apple has officially introduced Apple Pay in Egypt, marking a significant expansion of its global contactless payment system.

The company’s Egyptian website was updated on Tuesday to announce the rollout, which will initially be supported by three major banks: National Bank of Egypt, Banque Misr, and Commercial International Bank (CIB).

This development is expected to simplify digital transactions for millions of users in the country.

With the launch, iPhone and Apple Watch users in Egypt can now make contactless payments in stores by registering their credit or debit cards in the Apple Wallet app.

Apple Pay also extends its functionality to apps and websites, allowing users to check out securely with just a few taps.

The service is further compatible with Mac and iPad devices for web payments, making it versatile and convenient for a wide range of transactions.

According to a report from Egypt Today, additional Egyptian banks are set to support Apple Pay in the coming weeks, further expanding its accessibility.

This rollout represents a major step forward in Egypt’s adoption of digital payment systems and aligns with Apple’s strategy to make secure and seamless payment solutions available globally.
